In September 2024, BOX — Frogner's brand-new sports bar — opened its doors in a completely new location at Bygdøy allé 1. In addition to showcasing all football matches and other major sporting events, BOX offers nightlife, private events, and entertainment — all under one roof.
BOX features three bars, large lounge areas, a stage for cultural and musical entertainment, and a charming rooftop terrace for warm summer days. Here, guests will find a wide range of quality drinks, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere — all in stylish and modern surroundings. A lot of effort and love have gone into creating this meeting place. We already have an experienced team in place, and now we need a general manager to lead them. Could that be you?

We’re looking for a general manager who loves being a host, thrives on working closely with people, and blossoms in a dynamic environment. At BOX, presence is key. This is an operational role, and you will work side-by-side with our skilled and well-functioning team. We value a solution-oriented leader, especially during busy and stressful periods. Key Responsibilities
Personnel responsibility for approximately 12 employees
Primarily operational work, but some administrative tasks are included
Close collaboration with the bar manager, bartenders, and runners
Shared responsibility with the bar manager
Training and follow-up of staff (bartenders, servers)
HSE and food safety (IK-mat) together with the bar manager
Regular follow-up on social media in cooperation with the marketing department
Qualifications
Must be 25 years or older and have management experience
Solid knowledge of bar operations and strong competence in beer, wine, and spirits
Must be fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages and have good English communication skills
Ability to handle both fast-paced, high-pressure days and quieter, low-tempo days
Ability to adapt quickly — even within the same day
General computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with social media platforms (primarily Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok)
Strong ability to plan, organize, assess, evaluate, and adjust plans on an ongoing basis
Team building is essential to us, so we’re looking for a true team player who motivates collaboration and good teamwork
Alcohol serving certification (Skjenkeprøven) or completion of the Salut course is required
